Our
encounter with Bastione del Castello Maniace and with
the layered history of Ortigia island gives the word
to Stupor mundi.
The encounter generates influences and theatrical visions
in a performing and musical way. The Bastione is the
farther extremity which points to the sea. It is the
ideal ambience for the creation of a new path in space
and time due to its storied configuration and to its
crossing tracks.
Stupor mundi is also the encounter with Federico II.
He is our main source of inspiration not only considering
he was the mastermind of the Castello (castle) but also
owing to his variegated personality. He was open and
respectful towards disparate traditions and cultures,
patron of art and science, friend of literati and poets
of different religions, passionate about beauty without
ideological boundaries.
This form of open-minded thinking mirrors for us the
inter-disciplinary thinking about art. Without hierarchies
the signs of art are woven together in a single composition.
This creation is offered to an audience which following
the route can choose its own way of reading it according
to its personal empathy. |
