The Othello project is our more recent experience of theatre with inmates.
Our first approach to the story of Othello began through the movie "che cosa sono le nuvole?" by P.P. Pasolini.

We started from the work of Pasolini in order to reconstruct another story of Othello. The feelings expressed by characters of the tragedy of Othello were mixed with the personal stories of the actors.
So, the story turned into something different: it has been filled up with the simplicity of the words of the actors and the expressive force of their faces.
Faces and words took the place of actions.

The frame is always a close up on the actors faces and the eyes look at us with no rest. In this way, the audience is brought inside the dramaturgy.

The prisoners are actors necessary. Today, they are the unique actors who can use the words of Shakespeare and Pasolini and who are able to make them sound true.
